2027: Another Abia Lawmaker Quits PDP

The member representing Bende South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Ndubuisi, popularly called “Ijiriji” tendered his resignation in a letter dated June 23, 2025 on Thursday, June 26, 2025 which was copied to the PDP Chairmen at State, zonal and local government levels in Abia.

The two-time lawmaker said he consulted his family and friends before taking his new political decision even as he blamed the crises in the PDP as his reason for dumping his umbrella.

Although he did not disclose in his letter the next political party he is joining, close associates are speculating that Ijiriji would be joining the ruling National party, the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Bende is the constituency of Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

” This decision is due to the prolonged worsening crisis within the party at multiple levels Nationally, Zonally and at the State level which has made it difficult for me to continue to function effectively under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party”, said the Bende South lawmaker.

He, however, promised to remain committed to the interests of his constituents.

Recall that Exactly two months ago, the member representing Bende North constituency in the Abia House, Nnamdi Ibekwe, resigned from the PDP and joined the Labour Party
