ABIA PDP SUFFERS ANOTHER HARD KNOCK AS FORMER COUNCIL BOSS DUMPS PARTY

The immediate past Executive Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief Ifeanyi Madu has announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In a letter dated November 15, 2025 which he endorsed and addressed to the chairman of his Eziama Agbo,
Umunneochi LGA, Chief Madu cited what he described as intra mistrust, betrayals and shenanigans that have constantly rocked the very foundation and essence of the party and have proven irresoluble and hydra-headed for years now as the major reason to resign from the party.

According to the letter made available to Dreamnews on Saturday, the PDP chieftain said he would take a political sabbatical in the meantime.

My decision to tow this political path is occasioned by the intra mistrust, betrayals and shenanigans that have constantly rocked the very foundation and essence of the party and have proven irresoluble and hydra-headed for years now.”

Sir,

Resignation from Membership of the Party, (PDP).

With every sense of humility responsibility and honour, it is my resolute resolve to tender my resignation from membership of The People’s Democratic Party (PDP). My decision to tow this political path is occasioned by the intra mistrust, betrayals and shenanigans that have constantly rocked the very foundation and essence of the party and have proven irresoluble and hydra-headed for years now. These internal squabbles orchestrated the loss of the core objectives of the foundation members; this erupts psychological trauma.

Regrettably, every patience and efforts to return the glory years have been a mirage due to wrong attitudes and approaches of it’s members.

Against the backdrops of this, I have resolved to quit the party and take a sabbatical from active politics. It is very important to categorically state here that my resignation is without prejudice and manice against any slated individual or group of individuals.

At this juncture, I owe the party massive gratitude for giving me the viable platform to serve the state in different capacities, including my spell as an executive chairman of Umunneochi LGA. I thank all the party stewarts, political office holders and previous governors whom I interfaced during my workaholic years steering the party ship, I thank you all.
Finally, I urge for fear of God and God’s wisdom as we work and pray for a better Nigeria.
