Governor Otti Pledges to Pay All Outstanding Salary Arrears of Enyimba Players, Sacks Accountant, Appoints New Sporting Director
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, South East Nigeria has announced the appointment of Daniel Eke as the new Sporting Director of Enyimba Football Club, Aba.
The appointment of Eke comes amid the poor run of the Aba based club in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL.
Announcing the appointment, Governor Otti said the move is part of wider efforts to restructure the People’s Elephant to return to winning ways.
The governor also announced the sack of the Accountant of the club, with a new one to be announced later to strengthen financial transparency and accountability.
He also assured that all outstanding players’ salaries, sign-on fees, and other entitlements would be paid without delay.
“If we can clear 58 months of salaries and entitlements owed to Abia workers, trust us to clear Enyimba football players immediately.”
Observers described the move as a renewed commitment by the Abia State Government to restore stability, discipline, and financial clarity at the club, while returning the People’s Elephant to its pride of place in Nigerian and continental football.
