2027: Otti iWins Imo Community’s Endorsement, Promises More Projects

Imo indigenes resident in Abia State have thrown their weight behind Governor Alex Otti’s second term bid, describing his administration as “transformational” and pledging to mobilize for his reelection in 2027.
The endorsement was made on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, during a grand civic reception organized by Ndị Imo in Abia in honour of Governor Otti and his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, at the pavilion of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba.
Governor Otti, who received the endorsement with gratitude, assured that his government will continue to run an inclusive administration that benefits all residents irrespective of state of origin.
“There is no state of origin in Abia State under my administration,” the Governor declared to a cheering crowd.

“This is just the beginning. We have been here for just three years. By the grace of God, in the next five years, you will see what will happen. Like the Americns will say, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Once you have found your feet, there is no going back to Egypt. We will continue to develop and do better,”
the Governor promised.
Responding to a request to recall workers disengaged between 2011 and 2012, Otti said he had directed that their entitlements be calculated and paid.
“Some of those people are now too old to return to work. What we said was that we will calculate their entitlements and pay them. Anambra people have received theirs. Imo people should show up for verification and you will be paid,” he said.
The Governor thanked Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Perry Opara, for identifying with the event. He assured that Imo indigenes in Abia are not only safe but are treated as indigenes.
Speaking on behalf of Imo people, Chief Perry Opara said the massive turnout was proof that Imolites in Abia are happy with Otti’s leadership. He also praised Mrs. Priscilla Otti, describing her as “a worthy daughter of Imo whose support has contributed to the Governor’s success.”
Chairman of the occasion, Chief Chibuike Achigbu, and other leaders including Chief MacDonald, Chief Boniface Mbachu, Chief Emeka Diwe and LP Women Leader, Mrs. Lilian Ezenobi, unanimously endorsed Otti for a second term.
They cited his achievements in road rehabilitation, flood control, sanitation, security, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, and reforms in education, health, transportation and power.
NURTW State Chairman and Founder of Local Boys Movement, Comrade Chukwuma Azode, said Otti represents “the best leadership Abia has witnessed in many years,” adding that “Abia and Imo are one family.”
In a vote of thanks, Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Gofwin Duru, assured the Governor of Imo indigenes’ full support in the 2027 election.
The event was attended by senior government officials.
