2027: Cosmos Ndukwe Battles Chima Anyaso
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the political space in Bende, Abia State is getting fired up by two political gladiators from that bloc, Dr Desmond Chima Anyaso, the deputy governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, (YPP), and former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. How. Cosmos Ndukwe who have engaged in a war of words.
Trouble started when Chima Anyaso made a post concerning the hostilities between Israel and Iran where he also shaded Cosmos Ndukwe, referring to him as a grandfather who should retire from politics.
The post reads: “Now that Iran and Israel have agreed to a complete and total ceasefire, I hope some old supposed leaders from Bende, who have lived off government all their lives, will also learn to respect their age at 62 and start behaving like grandparents.”
Dr. Anyaso admonished aspiring leaders to exercise caution regarding individuals like Cosmos Ndukwe and his recent political affiliates—many of whom, he asserted, transitioned to the APC after 2023 for self-serving purposes.
“Having served as a previously unsuccessful and disillusioned chief of staff to a governor and a member of the assembly, Cosmos Ndukwe possesses a documented history of desperation in his quest for political significance, often inciting conflicts merely to secure self-interested positions.”
In response, Cosmos Ndukwe made a post (Which he deleted within seconds) where he accused Chima Anyaso of being a business politician who used unprintable means to achieve political fame.
This sparked heated responses among lovers and admirers of both politicians.
Dr. Chima further proclaimed that “the unfortunate reality is that opportunities do not present themselves twice, particularly for someone who squandered his tenure as deputy speaker of the State Assembly while simultaneously attempting to navigate a suspended and unsuccessful presidential aspiration.”
“I initially hesitated to engage in a discourse with him, but his recent remarks were clearly aimed at me. Allow me to remind him that the people of Bende have moved beyond him. His political influence is now minimal,” Anyaso asserted.
“When the appropriate moment arises, we shall remind all of their true roles in the political landscape of Bende and Abia,” Anyaso concluded.”
Responding further, the former deputy speaker distanced himself from being a political business man, accusing Chima Anyaso of seeking for photographs with the governor.
Cosmos further alleged that Chima Anyaso is has never won any election or held any political position in the state, yet he has jumped from one party to another.
Hon. Cosmos claimed that Anyaso is not capable of winning his pulling unit.
Recall that the media space has been agog with speculations that Dr Chima Anyaso is positioning himself for House of Representatives for Bende Federal Constituency on the platform of the Labour Party, which informed his recent resignation from the YPP, though the Lagos based businessman is yet to announce his destination.
Following his romance with the governor, Dr Alex Otti and the Labour Party, one can confidently infer that the Ofuji of,Bende is head for the Labour Party.
