The State Government through the Umuahia Capital Development Authority, UCDA, has commenced the second Phase of demolition on the encroached lands in Government College, Umuahia.

The General Manager of Umuahia Capital Development Authority, Kingsley Agomoh, said the Occupants have been properly warned, as the Land belongs to the Government College, Umuahia.

Agomoh stated this in Umuahia on Friday, while fielding questions from newsmen during the demolition exercise.

He said that nobody was authorised to build on the land, pointing out that the Exercise will continue as the Government has taken full possession of the Land.

The UCDA General Manager advised People to make enquiries from Government Institutions, including UCDA and the Ministry of Lands, before purchasing any land, and warned that all encroachments on Government Schools across the State will be retrieved.

Mr Agomoh disclosed that the Government will soon commence proper fencing of the School, while the structures already completed by the encroachers will be forfeited to the Government College, Umuahia.

Mr Agomoh explained that all the structures have no Government approvals, and regretted the unpatriotic attitude of the Developers who have continued work despite several warnings.
