CVR: Abia LP Tasks Abians To Register, Passes Vote Of Confidence On Governor Otti
The Acting Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Sir Emmanuel Otti has encouraged Abians to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission to get their permanent voter’s card (PVC), in order to be eligible to vote in the 2027 general elections.
Sir Otti gave the charge in Aba South on Monday, August 18, 2025 at a Stakeholders meeting of the Labour Party. He emphasized the need for Abians to acquire the PVC as it the only tool to show solidarity and support to the governor, Dr. Alex Otti, come 2027.



The gathering was part of your of the 17 local government areas of the state to inspect and sensitive party faithful and the general public on the importance of active political participation.
Recall that the party launched a tour of the 17 local government areas as part of broad efforts to deepen party relationship and expand the membership of the party. The Monday gathering was for Aba South Local government council.
Also speaking, the member representing Aba Central state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ucheonye Akachukwu acknowledged the voting strength of Aba South but urged the party members to lead the drive for massive registration in order to have more votes in 2027.


He emphasized that the council is known for winning elections but added that they would have to win with wider margin. He commended the party for their resilience and commitment, adding that their vote will be a thank you message to Governor it
He tasked them on returning the governor in 2027.
Contributing, the Senatorial candidate of the party for Abia South Senatorial Zone in 2023, Chinedu Onyeizu gave a litany of ongoing and completed projects by the state government, including the remodeling of Ariaria International Market and Ekeoha Market among others.

While he emphasized that the gathering was not for political campaign, he changed the audience to put more effort and resources to ensure that the Labour Party gain more grounds by winning federal seats in the 2027 general elections.
On his part earlier, the Chairman of the party in Aba South Local Government Area, Mmajụ Egbebu appreciated the State Working Committee and the entire LP family for the visit.

He took the mammoth crowed down memory lane, where he recalled the days of little beginning of the party, prior to the elections. He recognized the contributions of each and every member for fighting together as one family until the Governor was delivered in that election.
The event climaxed with a vote of confidence passed on the governor and endorsing him for a second term.
Also the party unveiled an Ankara fabric for the women of the party. According to the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Chidiebere Okoro said the aim of the introduction of the Ankara material is to identify the women andake them unique at all gatherings.


The event brought together all the stakeholders of the party including the Speaker of theAbia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, who sent a representative, member representing Aba Central state constituency in the state Assembly, Hon. Ucheonye Akachukwu, market Union leaders, captains of industries, government functionaries, traditional rulers, support groups, to mention just a few.
