Abia State government announces schools resumption date

Abia State government has announced the date for resumption of primary and secondary schools (public and private schools), in the state for third term of 2024/2025 academic session.

This was made public in a statement by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi on Thursday.

The date according to the release is Monday, 29th April 2025.

The state enjoined principals and head teachers to report to their duty posts for full academic activities on the resumption date while urging parents and guardians to allow their wards to return to school.

The release also included time table for activities for the time.

It fixed mid term break to commence on Thursday, 19th June and end On Sunday 22nd June 2025 while schools are to vacate on Friday August 1, 2025.

The resumption date for first term, 2025/2026 session will be on Monday, 23rd September, 2025.
