“Come And Paint Omenuko Bridge”, — Group Mocks Orji Kalu
The Abia Coalition For Justice and Equity ACJE has dismissed the statement of the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu that Governor Alex Otti of Abia State is “repainting” what he built when he was governor of the state between 1999 and 2007, saying the statement can only come from a drowning man.
The group in a statement signed by its convener Comrade Okwute Otuonye said the former governor is drowning politically and looking to bailout through president Bola Tinubu.
It said Senator Orji Uzor Kalu knows his political journey is nearing its end, in 2027 when according to them he would be shown the exit door of the Senate.
It wondered why Senator Kalu would be so petty to claim that Governor Otti is simply repainting what he built.
The statement in a sarcastic paragraph called on Governor Otti to come and paint the popular Omenuko bridge and Port Harcourt Road built by Orji Uzor Kalu in 1999.
“Since the governor, Alex Otti is now a painter of OUK projects, we call on the governor to come and paint Omenuko bridge and Port Harcourt Road built by Orji Uzor Kalu”.

The Coalition went on to list numerous signature projects of Alex Otti which they ironically asked the governor to paint.
It recalled that on a visit to Governor Otti, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu praised Otti to high heavens for the work done on Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba Road where he (Orji) said he “literally flew” due to the smoothness of the road.
According to them, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is speaking from both sides of his mouth which it said is a sign of what it called “political confusion of a drowning man”.
It said the senator is using his apparent support for President Tinubu to see if he could save his dimming political flame.
