“They Took Abia Into The Dark Cells Of Penury”, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa Replies Former Governors

Reactions have continued to trail to converge of former governors of Abia and former political appointees in Abia who have vowed to wrestle power away from the incumbent governor, Dr Alex Otti.

In response to the threat by the older politicians in Abia State, the Chief Liaison Officer of the Abia State government at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Iheanyi Chinasa has described the converge as “inconsequential and of no effect”, saying the governor has cemented his second term through visible transformation of the state.

Speaking to Dreamnews on Monday, the former House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections said the gathering of the former governors, led by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was born out of hunger for personal gratification and quest to remain in the corridors of power and has nothing to do with the development and governance of the state.

“These old politicians are not agitating for the development of the state. Their coming together to forge a common front was born from the fact that they want to still be in power and continue embezzling public funds.”

“It’s about personal gratification and has nothing to do with governance. But I tell you, this converge will amount to nothing. The Governor, Dr Alex Otti OFR has cemented his second term in office through visible transformation of the state. Their gathering is inconsequential and of no effect.”

He said they do not have any moral justification to talk about good governance because according to him, Governor Otti has performed more than the three of them put together.

“How can they talk about good governance? These are the men who held the state down for years without any progress.”

“They took Abia into the dark cells of penury.”

“Governor Otti came and brought Abia out from their dungeon and restored the dignity of the state.”

“What Governor Alex Otti has done in two years far outweighs the achievements of the three former governors put together.”
