“Commend What Is Commendable”, Chief Chinasa Tells Abians

The Abia State Liaison Officer at the National Assembly, Abuja, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa has called on Abians and Nigerians in general to always support good gestures and commend what is commendable.

Chief Chinasa made the call in Umuahia on Friday, October 10, 2025 while speaking to Dreamnews on the sidelines of a book lunch, “Nature and Nurture – Beyond My Autobiography, Volume 1”, written by Reverend Fr. Christian Anokwuru at the conference hall of the JAAC Building Ogurube Layout Umuahia.

According to him, Rev. Fr. Anokwuru has distinguished himself from the lot, having shown commitment to the well being of humanity, for having the dream to also establish a Geriatrics Village — a home for the elderly.

He described Fr. Anokwuru as a man of integrity.

“When you see a man of integrity, that has the passion to do things like this, it makes sense for us, the people around to rally around him and support him. So he’s a man of integrity”

“We are here to celebrate the dream of one man. Father, and this is a dream that is both commendable and trustworthy. A dream that seeks to the establishment of a theatre center, a geriatrics center, for the elderly, for the down troden. For them, that could no longer fend for themselves.”

The former Labour Party House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 election drew comparisons with what the governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti is also doing in the state, saying a lot of good things are happening in Abia.

“Just like the governor, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti. A lot of good things are happening in Abia today and it is good for people to support what is good, commend what is commendable and if you want to criticize, criticize constructively.”

“Fr. Anokwuru has a vision to impact lives. He is setting of this centre for the elderly and there is a nursing centre their to take care of the health of the old people. That is what the governor is doing.”

“He’s a reverend father by training. He also runs a nursing college here in Umuahia, and one of the Catholic schools we have here. So we’re here to celebrate his book about himself and his life and his history. Things he has been able to achieve through ruggedness, resilience, and all manner of training, of course, as a spiritual man from the Catholic school. So he’s a man of integrity. We’re here to honor him and to honor what he sets to achieve.”

“So Abians, wherever you see anyone, not just the governor, not just them, but anyone that’s doing things that are so commendable, please support them to do the best they can.”
