Former chairman Aba Chamber of Commerce Industries Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) Chief Jerry Kalu a.k.a Osimiri, has described Abia State governor Dr Alex Chioma Otti as an epitome of good governance, a purposeful and visionary leader who has positively transformed the fortunes of Abia State in less than three years in office.

In an exclusive interview with the Chuks Ogbu, Chief Kalu who is the Chief Executive Officer Of Trans Media Limited applauded Governor Otti for the amazing infrastructural development the State has witnessed since he took over the reigns of leadership and his outstanding performance in the area of security and all aspects of the State.

The astute businessman expressed delight at the rate at which the State government is going about with Infrastructural development and the improvement of life in Abia,

“Our roads are better now, not just better but also well illuminated” he said.

Chief Kalu likened the Umuahia–Ohafia road to the ones found in the western World.

” I am from Igbere in Abia North, the road leading from my place to Umuahia is now wearing a new look. Before now, it was in a terrible state, I don’t know why previous government overlooked it but now driving on that road feels like you are driving on the roads of New York– Newark highways in The United States of America”.

On the recent criticism from opposition politicians on accountability, he said, “I believe in accountability it’s not wrong for the citizens to ask questions on the money spent on the projects but when the government answers the questions it wouldn’t make much sense to try to probe further,.

He also urged citizens to ensure they pay their taxes to enable the government to continue delivering the dividends of democracy. He also advised against multiple taxation in residential, business and market areas.

The Elder Statesman urged governor Otti to continue with the good works and disregard malicious criticisms from some political detractors as that would only derail his focus.

Chief Jerry Kalu urged Abians to ensure that the take part in the continued voter registration exercise so as to undertake their civic duty come the 2027 general elections.
