Group Condemns Politicizing Government Policies And Actions
The Abia Coalition For Justice and Equity, ACJE, has urged the general public to disregard inflammatory and misleading reports that the sealing of the office of the Renewed Hope Partners by the Abia State Government is a political vendetta.
In a statement on Tuesday, the group expressed shock and disappointment by what it described as “the blatant misrepresentation of facts” surrounding the sealing of the Renewed Hope Partners Office in Umuahia.
The statement signed by the Convener of the group, Comrade Okwute Otuonye, strongly rebuked the author, Iyke Mba, for peddling “a false narrative” that the action is a selective attack on the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, and President Tinubu.

According to Otuonye, “The truth is that the Abia State Government has taken action against property owners who are in violation of their statutory tax responsibilities. The sealing of the office is not a political vendetta, but a legitimate exercise of the government’s duty to enforce tax compliance.”
It added that the Abia State Government has a responsibility to collect taxes and ensure compliance with the law, and it would not be swayed by “baseless allegations” of political persecution.
The Abia Coalition For Justice and Equity, further called on all citizens to support the government’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability, warning that it would not tolerate the politicization of issues that affect the welfare of the people.
The group demanded an immediate retraction and apology from the author and the publication for spreading false information.
Following the circumstances surrounding the development, reports say the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti has ordered the immediate unsealing of the property on Tuesday evening.
