Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa Hands Over 300 Solar Streetlights to Uzuakoli Kingdom

Former House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa has successfully handed over over 300 solar-powered streetlights to the Uzuakoli Kingdom.

Chief Chinasa handed the project, procured through the Niger Delta Development Commission to the traditional rulers of Uzuakoli on Friday, January 9, 2026.

The landmark initiative, aimed at enhancing security, improving night-time visibility, and promoting socio-economic activities within the community, marks another significant stride in Hon. Chinasa’s unwavering commitment to the development of Uzuakoli and the entire Bende Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Liaison Officer of the Abia State government to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, described the project as “one of the little efforts” he is making to better the lives of his people.

The Labour Party Chieftain assured the community of greater interventions to come. He reiterated his dedication to continuously attract meaningful projects that will positively impact the grassroots.

He also expressed profound appreciation to Prince Oscar Orji Apuogwu for being instrumental in ensuring that the project and its engineers were brought down to Uzuakoli for successful execution.

In their separate responses, the traditional rulers showered encomium on Hon. Chinasa for his outstanding gestures and people-oriented leadership. Eze Uchenna Okorie (Ekwo II of Akaekwo Uzuakoli and Chairman, Bende LGA Traditional Rulers Council) alongside Eze Joseph Okorie Ugwu I of Ngwu Autonomous Community, Uzuakoli, extolled the project as timely and impactful. They passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Chinasa assuring him of continued support and prayers of Ndi Eze and the entire Uzuakoli people.

The solar streetlights are set to be mounted at strategic locations across Uzuakoli, forming part of Hon. Chinasa’s broader vision to light up the community and create a safer, and more progressive environment for all.

Dignitaries present at the project handover included several respected traditional rulers: HRHs Eze Uchenna Okorie (Chairman, Bende Council of Traditional Rulers), Eze Anthony Moses, Eze Cmdr. Anthony Okoronkwo, Eze Joseph Okorie, Eze Dr. Okezie Chijioke, engineers from the NDDC, and Prince Oscar Orji Apuogwu, among others.
