My Free Medical Outreach is for all, not Driven by Partisan Politics – Onyejeocha
Immediate-past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has declared that her free annual medical outreach is not driven by partisan politics.
Onyejeocha made the declaration when she visited Isuikwuato General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2026, where the 19th edition of her free medical outreach kicked off on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The eight-day outreach would be concluded at Madam Susan Mba Memorial Health Centre, Ugwuodo Umuaku Isuochi, Isuochi in Umunneochi local government area. About 5, 000 patients are expected to be treated during the exercise.
Stressing that the outreach serves all persons irrespective of party affiliation, she said: “I reiterate that this Medical Outreach is for everyone and not limited to groups or party loyalists. It is my personal vow to always carry out this medical outreach whether in power or not.”
The former Minister who was accompanied by Friends and well-wishers, explained that she was at the medical facility to further encourage the medical staff and put a smile on the face of constituents who came with different health issues.
She expressed confidence that the medical programme would progress well because it was being handled by qualified health professionals.
“Under the eagle eye supervision of Dr. Joseph Eziechina, who has been with this movement for over 18 years, I am confident that we will have a stress-free, trouble-free and solution-oriented program,” she stated.
She encouraged beneficiaries to follow the directives of the health personnel and to have faith in God for healing and in the doctors for treatment.
The former Minister described as heart-warming, the massive turnout of children, youths and the elderly for treatment.
The annual medical outreach has over the years provided free consultations, drugs, eye care, surgeries and other health interventions for thousands of constituents from Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal constituency.
Onyejeocha who is the All Progressives candidate for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi House of Representatives candidate for the 2027 National Assembly election, has sustained the free medical programme for 19 consecutive years.
The annual medical outreach has over the years provided free consultations, drugs, eye care, surgeries and other health interventions to thousands of constituents. Services on offer this year include cataract and other eye surgeries, hernia and hydrocele operations, fibroid and pile surgeries, appendicitis procedures and caesarean sections. Others are cervical cancer screening, laboratory and optical services, medications, and food support for patients undergoing surgery, free of charge.
The Media Office noted that “the sustenance of this laudable programme for this length of time can only be described as ‘a covenant being kept’,” adding that the initiative has restored health, renewed hope and transformed countless lives across the constituency.
It reaffirmed Onyejeocha’s commitment to improving access to healthcare, stressing that “a healthy constituency is a wealthy constituency,” and describing the former Minister as “an intentional leader.”
The APC House of Assembly candidate for Isuikwuato, Chima Agbaeze, told newsmen at the venue of the exercise that he was touched by the humanitarian services Onyejeocha was rendering to the people with her personal resources and pledged to emulate her. A beneficiary, High Chief Okorie Okechukwu Henry from Ovim who underwent eye surgery, also commended the ex-Minister for touching lives through the medical outreach and securing jobs to unemployed persons, promising to reward her with his vote when the time comes
