Otti Must Do 8 Years Like His Predecessors – Abia Monarchs

*Endorse Governor’s Second Term Bid

Traditional rulers in Abia State have vowed to fight off any force that may rise to terminate Governor Alex Otti’s bid to return to office in office in 2027 for his second term.
.The royal fathers who promised to support and ensure the Governor’s re-election argued that Otti’s second term bid must not be aborted, since his predecessors all completed their unbroke eight-year tenures of two terms.
According to the royal fathers, Otti has redefined governance in Abia, and therefore he deserves a second term.
To express their support, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers unanimously endorsed the Governor’s re-election bid, saying that his “achievements were beyond measure.”
Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Dr. Linus Nto Mbah, made the decision of the Council public when he spoke with journalists after a closed-door meeting of a delegation of the Council with the Governor at his Nvosi country home in Isialangwa South Local Government Area of the state.

Eze Mbah noted that in less than three years in office, Governor Otti has performed creditably in various sectors of the economy, maintaining that he (Otti) has redefined governance in Abia.

He assured that since his predecessors, both those that performed and those that failed, all completed eight years in office, Governor Otti would not be an exception. more so, when he has done exceptionally well.
“We want to encourage him. Come 2027, all traditional rulers are behind him,” Eze Mbah began.
“Other governors did eight years each, whether they did well or not, why should it be his own that people would come to say that he should take four years and leave.
“Abia State Traditional Rulers Council says no, it will never happen. We will give him 100 percent support. We will make sure in 2027, Dr Alex Otti, Chioma Ndị Abia, will be re-elected,” he added.
The royal father explained that the visit was to formally thank the Governor for his good works in the state and to encourage him to do more for the people, describing the Governor’s projects as monumental and laudable.
“You would see roads, so many roads. We have decided to come and say, “Governor, thank you, we have seen what you are doing, keep it up.
“Abia State traditional rulers are very very happy. We are very grateful to him.
“It is based on what the Governor has done, which is beyond measure, that the traditional rulers resolved to endorse him for a second term in office,” he said.
He commended the Governor for prioritising security of lives and property across the state, noting that the traditional institution in Abia was proud of him and his sterling achievements.
The first Deputy Chairman, Abia Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Nelson Nmerengwa, the second Deputy Chairman, HRM Eze Franklyn Nwosu, and the third Deputy Chairman,
HRM Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu, among other traditional rulers, were present during the meeting.
