Renewable Energy Transition: TAP Calls For Speedy Implementation

The Abia Patriots (TAP), has urged the Abia State government, led by Dr Alex Otti to expedite action in the implementation of the transition of Abia State to renewable energy, leveraging organic waste.

The rights group was reacting to the announcement by the state government on the initiative. While it commended the Governor for the initiative, it cited the potential benefits for the state’s economy and environment.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of TAP, Mazi Adindu Madumere, the group described the plan as a beacon of hope for Abia’s energy future .

“By converting organic waste to biogas, we’ll reduce pollution, improve public health, and boost economic growth”.

“The initiative is expected to alleviate Abia’s reliance on the unstable national grid, saving residents from frequent power outages and positioning the state as a model for sustainable development in Nigeria”.

“We urge the state government to swiftly implement this plan, ensuring Abia’s energy security and a healthier environment,”

The Abia Patriots pledged support for the initiative, advocating for its successful execution.
