We Must Hold Our Leaders Accountable — Chief Henry Ikoh

Following the report by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the poor number of registration from the South East in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, well meaning Abians have continued to make case for the people from the zone to take advantage of the exercise.

A former minister of Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh has called on the people from the South East to come out in mass to register and acquire their Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVC, describing it as the weapon to hold political office holders accountable for their stewardship.

The Abia born politician and industrialist said every government must be accountable to the people because they hold power on trust for the people and must remain transparent in their dealings to earn public support and confidence.

Chief Ikoh made the call while speaking to journalists. According to him, citizens have the right to choose their political leaders.

The former minister said every effort is in top gear to mobilize Abians to participate in the ongoing voter registration.

“For you to elect our political office holders we need to possess the right which the PVC represents”

He noted that the country is going through systemic reforms, necessary for the future and stability of the country, economically, politically, and socially.

“Nigeria today is undergoing systematic reforms which are needed for the future and stability of the country economically politically and socially,”

He posited that every country that is progressing underwent reforms and strengthened economic policies, pointing out that President Bola Tinubu is doing his best and needs the support of every Nigerian.
