“Governor Otti’s administration has prioritized rural connectivity, economic revitalization, and inclusive development” — Luke Ukara
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State is set to commission the newly reconstructed Omenuko Bridge and the Abam-Okobo-Amuvi-Arochukwu Road on February 13, 2026.
Reacting to this, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State on Legislative Matters, Hon. Luke Ukara Onyeani said the Omenuko Bridge, originally built in 1955, had become a safety hazard due to its narrow carriageway and deteriorated condition.
According to Onyeani, the reconstruction project, awarded to Geld Construction, was completed within nine months and featured a modern dual-carriageway structure with pedestrian sidewalks.
The former lawmaker who represented Arochuchukwu state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly said the commissioning ceremony will mark a significant milestone in Abia State’s infrastructure development, enhancing connectivity between Arochukwu, Abam, and Ohafia, and boosting economic activities in the region.
“Governor Otti’s administration has prioritized rural connectivity, economic revitalization, and inclusive development”.
