Hon. Abiola Sympathizes with the Relatives of the Bonny Street Traders Accident Victims.

The member representing Umuahia Central State constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Chinasa (Abiola) on Tuesday 17th of February, 2026 paid a condolence visit to the family, friends and co-traders of the 14 victims of a fatal accident on Saturday, February 14, 2026, following the unfortunate accident that befell the Bonny street traders along the Enugu Porthacourt express way on their way back from the traditional marriage ceremony of one of them.

The house member who began the visit to Bonny street where the traders do their business, had a moment of prayer with the traders who came out in their numbers to witness the presence of the Abia Lawmaker.

The lawmaker directed the chairman of Bonny street traders, Mr. James Edeh to get the details of the victims, dead and survivors for proper identification and documentation.

The Lawmaker proceeded to the resident of Mc. Counsellor who is also a casualty of the accident.

Speaking with the widow of the late Mc. Counsellor, Hon. Anthony Chinasa urged the young widow to rather be consoled for according to him, she’s now “a young bride of the Lord” who is the husband to the widows.

He went further to emphasize the importance of unity in times of tragedy, assuring the affected families that they are not alone in their pain as His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti the governor of Abia State is very much aware of his visit and also assured his full commitment to the treatment of the survivors.
