JAMB Appoints Dr C. K. OKoro, Chief Examiner for Abia State

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has appointed the Rector of Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba, Dr Christopher Kalu Okoro as the Chief External Examiner for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME in Abia State.

This was conveyed in a letter from JAMB, dated January 26, 2026.

The Board stated that it regularly rejig its operations to address the dynamics of the education sector, particularly in the area of assessment and admissions.

It stated that the appointment was made after considering the background, pedigree and integrity of Dr Okoro, the board was pleased to appoint him the Chief Examiner of the 2026 UTME for Abia State.

The letter listed what is required of Dr Okoro in his new appointment which includes among other duties: to provide overall leadership to all examination officials in the state, personally visit examination centres at random, ensure a hitch free conduct of the examination in the state, receive summary of reports from all examination centres daily, respond to challenges brought to his attention, especially those that require critical decisions and many more.

The board expressed confidence in Dr Christopher Kalu Okoro to discharge his duties without fear or favour.
