Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Set To Commission Completed Projects At Osisioma Campus

Barring any last minute change, the Dr Ogbonnaya Ọnụ Polytechnic Aba (formerly Abia State Polytechnic Aba) is set to commission completed projects at the Osisioma campus of the institution.

The Rector of the school, Prof. Christopher Kalu Okoro disclosed this on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 during the Academic Board meeting of the institution, held at the Polytechnic’s Auditorium.

According to Prof Okoro, the commissioning will form part of the activities for the 2026 matriculation ceremony of the Polytechnic, billed to hold in March, 2026.

Prof Okoro noted that the Osisioma Campus, which has existed since 1994, is witnessing unprecedented transformation, while appreciating the Governor, Dr Alex Otti for his sustained commitment to infrastructural development in the institution.

“The Osisioma Campus will commence full academic activities in 2026. It takes an intentional leader who believes in education to bring this long-standing vision to reality”.

Ho posited that only a leadership genuinely committed to education could drive such progress.

Addressing concerns over delays in the uploading of students’ results, the Rector directed departments to conduct a comprehensive review of students’ account statuses and ensure prompt submission.

‎“When students cannot access their results after examinations, it means we are failing in our responsibilities,” he stated, while issuing firm readlines for compliance.

‎Prof. Okoro also announced the introduction of official staff and student identification cards, which he said would serve as mandatory access passes into the institution.

‎He expressed appreciation to the Polytechnic management for their support in advancing the institution’s vision, emphasizing the need to sustain standards and institutional excellence.

‎“I thank the management for believing in this institution and supporting the developmental vision of His Excellency. Together, we will continue to uphold quality and ensure the right structures are in place,” he added.
