“Pay our Salaries or Process our Retirement and Pay us our Pensions and gratuity”, Reinstated Health Workers Beg Governor Otti

Reinstated Health Workers in Abia have appealed to the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti to consider their plight and pay their salaries.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the health workers, mostly nurses said since they were reinstated, over one year ago, they have not received a dime from the state government.

According to them, the governor in his magnanimity elongated their years of service with 5 years, yet nothing has been paid to them.

In an emotion laden tone, the health workers pleaded with to government of Abia State under the leadership of Dr Alex Otti to either pay them or process their retirement and pay their pensions and gratuity.

They called on the Commissioner for Health, Dr Enoch Uche, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, the Accountant General of the state to as a matter of urgency pay their salaries or pensions.

Their plea is coming few days after they threatened to stage a protest to press home their demand.
