Rights Group Commends Abia Green Shuttle Initiative

A civil rights group The Abia Patriots (TAP)have commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for the successful launch and implementation of the Abia Green Shuttle Service, describing the initiative as a “game changer” in sustainable urban mobility.

In a statement on Thursday, January 29, 2026, the group applauded Governor Otti’s vision for a modern, eco-friendly Abia State and urged citizens to support this initiative.

“We, The Abia Patriots (TAP), commend Governor Alex Otti’s administration for the successful launch and implementation of the Abia Green Shuttle Service, a game-changer in sustainable urban mobility. This initiative has brought joy to Abians, providing free inter-city and intra-city transportation since its inception”.

“The Abia Green Shuttle Service is a beacon of innovation, showcasing the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability, modernization, and economic efficiency. The electric buses, equipped with air conditioning, USB charging ports, and security cameras, are designed to be accessible for persons with disabilities, promoting inclusivity”.

According to the statement endorsed by the Secretary General of The Abia Patriots, Mazi Adindu Madumere, “the initiative promises environmental sustainability through zero-emission transportation, reducing carbon footprint and combating pollution; health benefits through reduced air pollution, promoting healthier living; safety through advanced security features, ensuring passenger safety; and economic efficiency through lower transportation costs, boosting economic growth”.
